She wrote the storybook for the Tony-nominated musical Ain’t Too Proud— The Life and Times of the Temptations and served as a story editor for Showtime’s Shameless. Today’s selection for New Jersey Creative Arts Collaborative, is from Blood at the Root which is based on the Jena Six. She is the only woman to have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama twice; the first in 2009 for Ruined, and the second in 2017 for Sweat, which is highlighted in today’s selection for New Jersey Creative Arts Collaborative. Nottage’s works have been widely produced worldwide and she was included in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2019. She wrote the book for the upcoming Broadway musical MJ, featuring the music of Michael Jackson.
